Festivals Return to Kempton

We are pleased to be Involved with Flagship Muisc Productions, They will be bringing  two music festivals to the 40 acre grounds at the Kempton Community Center in Kempton Pa.
A scenic view in all directions as the grounds sit in the foothills of the Appalachian Trail.

The Spring Blossom Bluegrass Festival will be held on May 18, 19 2012. We have an array of music from some of the best musicians from far and wide some you might know and new ones for your ears. Providing the sound engineering for this event is Larry Levin
from Forge Recording. Larry’s years in the music business has taken him with the likes ofThe New Riders of The Purple Sage, Kingfish, Donna Godchaux among many more! The lighting
crew lead by Chris Kratz along with the gang from PlusVibes Productions will sure to add to your experience once the sun goes down!  

 

The second annual Pinnacle Jam on September 14, 15 2012 will be the host of a Fundraiser for the Rex Foundation.Founded by Jerry Garcia and many of his cohorts in 1983 we welcome many bands that support the same values of the Rex Foundation. Again we will use the gang from PlusVibes lead by Chris Kratz for the stage lighting that will add those perfect colors to the music! Our sound Engineer will be lead by Dave Chebra from Scarlet Sound which has
worked many great festivals in the Northeast.

country to have so many local bands that pay tribute to the music of the
Grateful Dead & Jerry Garcia. Once again, Music at Snipes Farm has extended
an invention for a few of these acts to come together to share their music
on the Farm. We hope you will come and join us for this family campout.

Thanks to all the support for this event Music at Snipes Farm have decided to move the Festival to the Big Field & the Big Stage. This will also bring changes in some bold new ways & a whole new look.   We look forward to sharing this
with you.

HogMaw wins the Philadelphia Folk Festival Unsung Heroes Campground Band Competition!

HogMaw wins the Philadelphia Folk Festival Unsung Heroes Campground Band Competition!

HogMaw, a progressive bluegrass band with members from York PA and Philadelphia PA, won the Philadelphia Folk Festival’s Unsung Heroes Campground Band Competition.

They will perform Friday afternoon August 19th on the Martin Guitar

Main Stage at the 50th annual Philadelphia Folk Festival in front of thousands of music fans. 

The Philadelphia Folksong Society had over 4 dozen applicants for the contest. A panel of music industry professionals chose 14 artists, who competed at Yards Brewing Company on July 10th and 17th. Of these, the Philly Jug Band and HogMaw were selected as the winners. 

HogMaw has been performing and touring around the region for almost 3 years. They

describe their music as THUNDERGRASS. HogMaw’s live performances are a blend of rowdy and rompin’ original music rooted in bluegrass tradition while pushing the boundaries with edgy melodic riffs and catchy choruses. The band is a trio of Matt Baldwin, on lead vocals and guitar, Ryann Lynch on fiddle, and Colin Reeves on mandolin and banjo. Johnny Calamari will support them on bass at the Festival.

This family-friendly, camping and jam-oriented music & arts festival at the beautiful Blue Falls Grove in Reading, PA includes an exciting & well-rounded collection of bands starting Friday night with Flux Capacitor (5:30 – 7:00pm), Dirk Quinn Band (7:15 – 8:45pm) & Yarn (9:00 – 10:30pm) on the main stage. George Crow will also be squeezing in a song or two between sets on the side stage. Flux Capacitor will then entertain us along with Groovin’ Lumens on projection lighting for a late-night acoustic campfire set (11:30 – 1am+). The main stage picks back up on Saturday at 12:30pm with Hogmaw (12:30 – 2pm), Acoustic Airshow (2 – 2:25pm), Mark Furman Band w/ Karl Frick (2:30 – 4pm), Mike Miz (4 – 4:25pm), Yawd Lynk featuring Tony Roy (4:30 – 6pm), Mike Miz (6 – 6:25pm), Rumpke Mountain Boys (6:30 – 8pm), Freak Show Antics of Jim Stilianos (8 – 8:25pm) and Juggling Suns (8:30 – 10:30pm). Rumpke Mountain Boys will then entertain us along with Groovin’ Lumens on projection lighting for a late-night acoustic campfire set (11:30-1am+) ~ The stage is a covered pavilion with plenty of nearby choice space for camping. This 3rd annual multi-arts festival, which benefits the Humane Society of Berks County in memory of my brother, Bobby Jones, guarantees to be a feast for the senses. It will intersect with Ontelaunee Drive, but continue to the right. Wiley’s Road will end & Blue Falls Grove will be straight ahead. Follow FESTIVAL signs!

DIRECTIONS FROM POTTSVILLE:
Take Route 61 South towards Leesport. Continue past the traffic light where Route 61 & Route 73 intersect. Turn LEFT a few hundred feet further down Rt. 61 onto Wiley’s Road. Follow Wiley’s Road to its end. Blue Falls Grove will be straight ahead about 1.5 miles. Wiley’s will intersect with Ontelaunee Drive, but continue to the slight right. Wiley’s Road will end & Blue Falls Grove will be straight ahead. Follow FESTIVAL signs!

DIRECTIONS FROM LANCASTER:
Take Route 30 East. Then take Route 222 North towards Reading/Allentown. Follow Route 222 North around Reading to Route 61. Take Route 61 North towards Pottsville. Follow Route 61 North for a few miles to Leesport. Turn RIGHT onto Wiley’s Road a few hundred feet before the traffic light at Rt. 73. Follow Wiley’s Road to its end. It’ll intersect with Ontelaunee Drive, but continue to the right. If you went to far on Rt. 61 & ended up at the light at Rt. 73, just make a right onto Rt. 73 & then turn right onto Ontelaunee Drive which will become Wiley’s Road in 500′ or so. Take PA Turnpike east to the first Reading exit near Denver/Ephrata area. Take the Route 222 North exit & follow Route 222 North about 15 miles or so to Route 61. Then take Route 61 North towards Pottsville. Follow Route 61 North for a few miles to Leesport. Turn RIGHT onto Wiley’s Road a few hundred feet before the traffic light at Rt. 73.
